What made you choose to study MA Illustration at NTU?
“There were several factors that made me choose NTU. I found the description of the course to be the most relevant out of my other options. Also, being in a larger city was important for me for job prospects. Lastly, the University has a good reputation and rankings online.”

What do you enjoy most about your course?
“I like that the course promotes collaboration and self-initiated studies. It prepares you to work independently and professionally in the future.”

Can you tell us about your project?
“My initial ideas were vague, I had an interest in architecture and psychology, and I knew I wanted to explore the way we experience architecture. Those ideas developed into my current project; I wrote and am now illustrating a short story. The whole project is about how the built environment influences human behaviour and what we could learn from that and change for the better.”

How do you find the course staff?
“Really nice and always excited to help. They are very patient and always provide relevant and constructive advice.”

What do you think about the facilities available to you?
“The facilities are excellent and often available. There is a wide variety of resources; even if you do not use something in your project, it is still positive to learn something new about image production.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“It is easier for me to pursue a career in my relevant field in the UK. In addition, Nottingham is a good city to be in; getting around is easy, there is an active nightlife and it’s a beautiful city.”

Would you recommend your course to someone thinking of studying it?
“Yes, definitely. I think the course has a lot to offer and it’ll help start your future career.”

How do you think the course, and having a postgraduate qualification, will help you to progress your career?
“The course really got me up to speed on where the industry is at currently. Also, I now feel more confident and knowledgeable about my subject and that I have what it takes to succeed professionally."
