What have you enjoyed most about the course so far?
“I have enjoyed the variety of aspects of graphic design that we have studied; from mark making to font creation, manual printing techniques and full use of the Adobe Creative Suite.”

Has the course included any industry competitions?
“Yes, we have quite a few! Currently I am creating a design for a new hairnet which is really an area I have never looked in to before. The prizes are always great too, so definitely worth doing.”

Has the course included any guest speakers?
“We regularly have guest lecturers visit and they are always very rewarding and informative. Personally, the best one so far was hosted by Alex Fowkes (NTU alumnus), an amazing typographer who I really admire. It was great to get some one-to-one time with him too.”

How do you find the course staff?
“Absolutely fantastic! They are all very knowledgeable, inspirational people. I could not be happier with level of expertise the course staff give.”

How do you find the facilities?
“We have a huge studio dedicated to our year alone and it’s accessible all throughout the week until 9 pm.”

What has been the highlight of your first term at NTU?
“The highlight really has to be all the new people I’ve met on my course who are from all walks of life and different backgrounds. Plus, the teaching staff are absolutely fantastic. If I was planning a dream graphic design course, l wouldn’t be able to conceive one as brilliant as the one I’m on now.”

What are you most looking forward to throughout the rest of your degree?
“Honestly and truthfully, just more of the same – even with a greater workload our course is simply fantastic and even though I’m only in my first year I can see why so many people are so sad to be leaving at the end of the three years.”
