The internship opportunities provided at NTU made me decide to study here. There are many advanced studios, lighting and cameras that are available to us as students, which is really useful.

What do you enjoy most about your course at NTU?
“I enjoy the photography workshops a lot.”

What made you choose to study at NTU?
“I chose NTU because of the internship opportunities provided here.”

Did you take part in any competitions?
“Yes, I was selected as a finalist for the AOP Student Awards 2018. My work was showcased at the Student Awards Exhibition at Wex Photo Video in Whitechapel, London. I took the photo in the Xinjiang Province in northwest China. The little girl weeps silently in the arms of her father because she just lost her grandfather.

"I snapped the photo by chance and gave the girl a piece of candy and a hug. When I took the photo, I thought we all shared a common emotional experience with the little girl. Although we may speak different languages, the feeling of losing our loved ones is the same.

"I felt so lucky to have been selected as a finalist. It gave me a sense of certainty as I always see the excellent work of my peers around me. This has helped me to analyse the positives and negatives of my photos."

What do you think about the facilities available to you?
“There are many advanced studios, lighting and cameras that are available to us as students, which is really useful.”

As an international student, what do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“I love everything about NTU and Nottingham – the teachers, my classmates, and the whole environment just makes it enjoyable.”

Why would you recommend your course to someone thinking of studying it?
“We have enough time to study independently, and there are many internship opportunities. The course has also helped me define my shooting style.”

How was your experience of Pre-Sessional for Academic Purposes (PEAP), and how do you think it helped to prepare you for your course at NTU?
“I did a 10-week PEAP course and it helped me to improve my writing and reading skills. We even went on a class trip to York. Every teacher was helpful, and they helped me prepare and check the materials I need for my CAS and student visa once I finished the course.”
