Rory was the winner of the prestigious Gold Award at Graduate Fashion Week in June 2011. In November 2011 his collection was launched in store and online by George.

"I feel so honoured to have been chosen as number one out of all the students to have shown at GFW when there was so much talent on show. The response I had to my collection has been great; it's so uplifting to have people so enthusiastic about what you're doing.

"The University does a fantastic job of teaching you all the 'must-know' technical aspects of knitting. Having this knowledge is crucial, once you've learnt what the knitting machines can do, you can begin being creative with it in your own way.

"The tutors follow your collection very closely and know what you can achieve; they nurture everyone's individual talent and push you to achieve your very best. An excellent team of technical staff are also vital in learning how to turn your ideas into reality.

"It's a great feeling to have launched a collection for such a large supermarket, but very surreal too. It's hard to believe people will be buying pieces with my name on them every day. It'll be a weird but amazing feeling to see someone wearing my designs on the street."
