What did you enjoy most about Fashion Communication and Promotion at NTU?
"Final year was amazing! It was good for getting to know the tutors and lecturers better, understanding what route was best for you and defining what you might like to do when you finish university. I thought the course staff were incredibly helpful and the independence regarding what projects you did was also something I liked."
Did the course include any live projects?
"I chose the Future Laboratory project, which was a trend forecasting group project based around predicting the future of retail. My team looked at technology-focused trends. Our idea was based around encouraging people to embrace technology rather than running away from it. It was so exciting and we were given the chance to completely stretch our imagination. I also completed an individual live project with Ylva Binder from Sweden, where I produced a report and creative outcomes on launching a whiskey bourbon into the UK market. I went to visit Ylva in Sweden and have been offered an internship in Stockholm where I will be launching the product with her."
Did the course include any guest lecturers or speakers from industry?
"Yes, we've had absolutely loads – loads and loads and loads! One that stands out for me is Steve Watson from Stack Magazine. I loved hearing about his business idea, which involves signing up online and receiving a new, random magazine, chosen by Steve, once a month.
"Another guest lecturer who has really helped me out with my projects in final year was Morgaine Gaye, a trend forecasting expert."
