The course is very informative and educative. I really enjoy that all the modules are highly practical instead of just being theoretical.

More about Defna

Tell us a bit about yourself? Why did you choose to study at Nottingham Trent University?

My name is Defna David, I am an Indian national living in the United Arab Emirates. I have done my bachelors in Aviation Management and my PG Diploma in International Business Management. So, when I thought of doing my Masters, I decided to pursue an MSc in Marketing. My search for universities in the UK led me to shortlisting Nottingham Trent University. While doing my research, I came to know about the multiple awards it has won over time, including the TEF gold as per Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and it's position in the higher ranks of the Marketing League Table 2020 in the Complete University Guide. This MSc Marketing degree also provides me with a graduate gateway membership from Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), which is a privilege of any aspiring marketer including me. This, along with its location of Nottingham City Centre and it’s scholarship opportunities, strengthened my decision to choose NTU as my university.

Tell us about your course. What is the best bit? Would you recommend your course to other students?

The course is very informative and educative. I really enjoy that all the modules are highly practical instead of just being theoretical.

Yes, I would highly recommend my course to any student who would like to gain a practical understanding of marketing theories and practices.

Have you had any opportunities to work or volunteer while at NTU?

Yes, I am working as a part time International Enquiries Assistant at the International Development office.

Do you enjoy Nottingham? What do you think are the best things about Nottingham for an international student?

I really like Nottingham as a city for international students, there are so many part-time work and volunteer opportunities. The city is well connected by public transportation and there are also a number of discounts for students.

Have you used any support teams at the University (visa team, student support, tutors)? Have they made your experience easier?

Yes, I have used the student support team for all advice regarding my stay in Nottingham from accommodation to transportation, as I am an international student, and they have always been helpful in providing descriptive details.

Have you learnt anything from your experiences that you would advise future international students?

I would like to advice that they stay in close contact with the university at all times and that the university has teams to help them for any enquiry and they have expertise in the city for international students.

Can you describe NTU in three words?
