What route did you take into postgraduate study?

I studied an undergraduate degree in International Business at Da Nang University of Economics in Vietnam.

When choosing a master’s degree, what did you consider it important to have?

For me it was recognised accreditation, a multicultural environment, work-based learning and scholarships. All of which was offered by Nottingham Business School.

What were your reasons for studying a master’s degree and why did you choose Nottingham Business School?

I chose NBS for a couple of reasons. I wanted to develop an in depth knowledge of my major and I am passionate about doing business. Firstly, I was successful in getting a scholarship, secondly, NBS is highly ranked and a quality business school and thirdly, because Nottingham is one of the most cost-effective cities for students in the UK.

The key features of the course itself which appealed to me where the international experience and the Internship Major Project option in the final semester. Studying international business, it is vital to have that international exposure, so the trip NBS organised to Greece was a big attraction to me.

Describe what your classes are like and how they differ from your undergraduate experience?

The seminars are much more intimate than my undergraduate seminars. Students interact a lot more with each other and the professors. This helps us to become more confident and active in the student experience.

What are the key skills you have developed studying at NBS?

Team-working, communication, critical thinking, leadership and presenting.

What do you think sets NBS apart from other business schools?

The location right in the city centre of Nottingham which was such an amazing attraction to me. In addition, the quality of the facilities and outstanding incorporation of technology in the student experience.

What clubs, societies or other activities have you been involved in at Nottingham Trent University?

The International Student Ambassador Scheme. I have worked for the University promoting the Business School and being a face of the organisation.

How have you found moving to and living in Nottingham?

I found Nottingham a very nice student city to live in. Of course there are differences in culture which pose a challenge at the beginning but I have overcome these now.

As I mentioned before, Nottingham is a very cost-effective student city and NBS’ campus is right in the city centre, making it very easy to get around.

Finally, in one sentence, how would you describe your experience of studying a master’s degree at NBS?

It is very interesting and useful to my future career.
