More about Hamish

What made you choose to study at NTU?

“The wide range of courses on offer were my original attraction, but I was focused on how well the business school was performing as I applied. When choosing international business, I was really attracted by the chance to receive a dual award.”

What were the key features that attracted you to your course?

“I was very interested in the range of modules offered when studying international business. The fact that I would spend two years abroad and receive two undergraduate degrees drew me in as well.”

What do you enjoy most about your course?

“I really enjoyed studying and working in France for two years. I was able to visit new places, meet some fascinating new people and try new foods!”

What do you think about the course staff – include lecturers, tutors, administrators and technical staff within this. How do they support your learning and University experience?

“Nottingham is a great student city, you can walk to most places as it's very compact. Many stores and cafés within the city offer student discounts and there are masses of student accommodations being built.”

Why would you recommend your course / NTU to someone looking to study in that area?

“International business is a great alternative to other classes in the business school as it encompasses all of the elements of the others, but it offers you a unique international aspect and gives you first-hand experience in a foreign workplace.”

“For my work experience I was located in Paris for six months, working for an interior design agency in their accounting department. I worked mostly in French, so that I could improve my fluency and confidence.”
