More about Lucy
What made you choose to study at NTU?
“NTU made me feel so welcome from the first open day I attended. With the campus located directly in the city centre, it is a perfect place for students to live, study, and socialise in. NTU offered me everything I could ever want, and it was the best decision I’ve made!”
What were the key features that attracted you to your course?
“The main attraction was the opportunity to study a joint honours degree in two subjects I’m interested in. This allows me to widen my learning and more job opportunities in the future. Also, the variety of opportunities throughout my course (such as internships, placements, module choices) meant I could tailor the course to my own preferences.”
What do you think about the facilities available to you?
“There are so many facilities available! Whether its studying on campus using computers, accessing textbooks/resources via the library, or having a break in one of the onsite cafes, there are so many to use.”
Why would you recommend your course to someone looking to study in that area?
“NBS offers a wide variety of interesting modules, giving you the opportunity to tailor your degree after first year; which means you can modify the degree for personal preference. The lecturers are really experienced, and all staff are very helpful.”
How will your course enhance your employability for your chosen career? What skills have you gained?
“A huge benefit from studying a HR degree at NTU meant that the degree is accredited by CIPD, which will improve my chance of employability within the HR field massively as it adds credibility in the eyes of employers. Also, NTU pay for your membership to be a part of CIPD which is an amazing bonus and opens up huge opportunities.”
What opportunities have you had as a result of studying with NBS? (e.g. course rep, CERT mentor, volunteering) How have these activities contributed to your university experience?
“NBS offer so many opportunities and I am very grateful to have been approached and asked to become a CERT Mentor, allowing me to help first years settle into university and give academic guidance. I have also been given the opportunity to become a Student Ambassador for the business school. These activities fit perfectly alongside my degree, as they focus on people engagement.”
What are your plans for the future?
“I am hopeful to graduate from NTU and aim to secure a graduate job within a HR department. I am planning on studying my master’s degree in HR, to expand on my knowledge further and make me more employable.”
