What motivated you to pursue a Global Executive MBA (GEMBA), and why did you choose Nottingham Business School?

"As I progressed in my career, I recognised the need to improve my strategic thinking and leadership skills. Pursuing a Global MBA was a natural step for me as it would give me the required global exposure. I chose Nottingham Business School because  it has a strong international reputation for excellence in business education, which aligned with my aspirations for a global career."

Why did you choose the GEMBA format for your studies, and how does it fit with your professional and personal commitments

"I prefer the format of GEMBA because it uses a hands-on approach and real-world application of the theory, which I feel at this stage of my career is essential to progress further in the working environment. It allows me to continue to work and provide for my family, whilst simultaneously furthering my studies."

What are your expectations for how the GEMBA will impact your career and personal development?

"My goal as a professional is to have a global impact in business and communities at large. Joining this programme allows me to pursue my long-held dream of mentoring young professionals, especially women to have confidence to pursue their leadership goals in various professions."

What is your current job title and key responsibilities?

"I am a Deputy Director General of a Property Management Branch within a government department. My key responsibilities include; development and implementation of asset management strategy for the provincially owned immovable assets to ensure optimal utilisation of the property portfolio across the province."

How do you anticipate applying the knowledge and skills from your MBA to your current role or future career aspirations?

"I will apply the leadership principles learned through the programme to foster collaboration, enhance team performance, and build strong relationships with other departments, clients, and industry experts within my field."

Which aspects of the programme have you found most engaging so far?

"The most interesting part of the module was the simulation on MyMarketingExperience (MMX) simulation which gave me a real-life experience on the development of a marketing strategy for a new company and the analysis of the changing marketing place."

What are you most looking forward to as you progress through the GEMBA?

"The Global consultancy project which will give me an opportunity to be part of a team that will assist a real client to define their goals, develop strategies and plans to achieve them. Gaining a deeper understanding of my strengths and weaknesses and motivations to become a more effective leader."

What advice would you give to someone considering the GEMBA at Nottingham Business School?

"Be clear about what you want to achieve out of the programme but have an open mind to all the possibilities. The programme will challenge and stretch your thinking capacity, but it is worth it."
