More about Rinki
Rinki's career so far...
"Having completed my Bachelor’s in Mass Media, with majors in Advertising, I kick-started my career in marketing. I have worked in the field of Public Relations, Advertising, Digital and Social Media in India and Dubai, applying what I have learnt over my graduate course of three years. My last professional experience was as a Marketing Manager for global sports brands such as Umbro, Skechers, Palladium and K-Swiss. With over 10 years of experience, I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in marketing and looking for a challenging new phase in my career."
Why did you choose NTU and your course?
“As an experienced marketing professional, I was looking for a course that would fit me just right, and enable me to further myself in my career. The MSc. Marketing course was perfect, as it is designed keeping Marketing Managers of the future in mind. In addition to the course, I loved the Nottingham vibe, and I knew NTU was the best choice for me.”
What motivated you to enrol on the course?
"The pandemic gave me a lot of time to think and put things into perspective. The slowing down of pace provided the best opportunity to upgrade my skills through a master’s programme. That, along with finding the right course at NTU motivated me to enrol onto the course."
Tell us about your experience on the MSc Marketing course.
“While half the course was online, the fast-paced master’s programme does provide a work-life, professional sort of experience. With engaging assignments, I have enjoyed the MSc. Marketing course thus far.”
Tell us about the industry experience you've gained through the specialist workshops, business simulation, CIM talks, guest lecturers, placement or internships opportunities, client-based projects.
“I haven’t reached my major/final project yet but have applied for an Internship Experience Project and I am excited to find out how that will proceed. The guest lecture, especially for TLD has been very enlightening. I also enjoy talking with my academic mentor and he has helped me understand the UK professional environment better.”
What have you taken away from your experience on your course?
"I definitely feel the course has re-energised my passion in marketing. My biggest takeaway would be time management and leadership skills which I enhanced over assignments, especially group assignments."
How has your journey on this course contributed to your career?
“Well that’s still to see, but I am confident that with my enhanced skill sets through my master’s programme, I am better trained and qualified for a management-level job.”
