More about Veronika

Veronika graduated from MSc International Business (Dual Award) in 2021. Following her internship at Amazon Web Services (AWS), she has gone on to become a Senior Business Development Rep for AWS.

During her time at NBS, she offered a range of insights into her experience on the course and at Nottingham Trent University:

Why did you choose NTU?

"I chose NTU due to its great reputation as one of the best universities in the UK, and its modern facilities and campus. I studied the MSc in International Business (Dual Award) due to its dynamic curriculum. It included a study trip to Toulouse, France, and a mandatory internship module."

What has stood out about Nottingham Business School?

"For me, NTU is a sea of opportunities. Whatever it is that you wish to pursue- build a business from scratch, develop a specific skill, become a leader or land your dream placement - know that you will always be supported with the best resources. I have had professors going above and beyond to assist me in my projects and ambitions. Overall, I felt like everyone at NTU wanted to see me succeed, and this kind of empowerment is irreplaceable."

How would you rate the course facilities and why?

"I would give it the maximum score. The classrooms are equipped with modern technologies and resemble business meeting rooms, with a fantastic view of Nottingham. The library is huge and full of useful resources, such as free laptop lending. The study zones are composed of coloured and comfortable sofas, forming a fun and modern atmosphere. Overall, the facilities create a great place to uncap our creativity and innovation."

What is your favourite thing about the course?

"My favourite thing about my course is its innovative and engaging teaching style. I was constantly learning. During this course, I travelled to Toulouse, where I was a real consultant for a French company. I built an innovative business plan and tested its viability in the market. I had the opportunity of learning from (and networking with) business professionals and field experts. Finally, the course provided me with the tools I needed to develop my creativity and critical thinking – skills I will be taking with me forever."

Can you tell us a bit about your placement?

"I did a summer internship at Amazon Web Services, in the Sales department. During that time, I worked on two projects focused on partnership development, obtained my Cloud Practitioner certificate, and even organized an event. It was a wonderful experience where I got to dive into the Amazon culture, learn about Cloud Computing and network with inspiring people. Furthermore, this internship gave me clarity regarding the career path I want to follow."

What’s next for you after NTU?

"Thanks to the internship module, I now know my future career path. I know exactly the role I want, as well as the skills I need to develop to fit my desired position. After NTU, I will be working to achieve my career goals and land my dream job in the Cloud Computing industry."

Has the employability ream helped you plan for life beyond NTU?

"Yes, the workshops organised by the employability team allowed me to network with experienced professionals and clarify any doubts about my life after the university. Furthermore, the employability team provides access to platforms with a variety of job and placement offers, as well as resources on the best practices during the search for a position."

Why did you want to study in the UK?

"I always wanted to experience the UK's teaching methods, as it is one of the best places in the world to do research, innovate, and grow business. Furthermore, the UK is incredibly rich in history and culture. It is the birthplace of my favourite writers, such as Agatha Christie, Jane Austen and J.K Rowling. Simultaneously, it is home to a great variety of nationalities, which would allow me to learn about several cultures at once."

How is NTU for international students?

"As an international student, I always felt heard, supported and included. Moreover, I was provided with the tools I needed to succeed at NTU, such as additional courses to improve my business and academic English levels."
