Along with having a keen interest in pursuing my postgraduate law degree in England and knowing about Nottingham Law School through other graduates of this University, made me determined to undertake my Masters degree at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) and after visiting this University in June 2016, I was highly satisfied with my decision.
NTU is a leading University in United Kingdom and Nottingham Law School has been rated “excellent” by the Law Society. Nottingham Law School is widely known for its efficient Faculty and the study of various branches of Law which aides in developing better career opportunities for the Law graduates.
Nottingham Law School provides a range of courses for the students. As a postgraduate student, I chose Corporate Insolvency as my field of study because in the present corporate world, company rescue and its related study are immensely required. Besides, Corporate Laws, the diverse modules relating to Intellectual Property, Sports Law, Oil, Gas and Mining Law and many more made me keen to learn more, and in the future, I would definitely be interested in pursuing another Masters from this renowned University.
My modules of interest are Corporate Insolvency, Intellectual Property Rights and Alternative Dispute Resolution. When applying for my postgraduate degree, I was happy to know that these modules are a part of the Nottingham Law School. My decision of choosing Corporate and Insolvency Law modules was right as I gained knowledge on a wider scale.
NTU provides varied and exciting facilities to its students. Amongst the many facilities, I have enjoyed the global lounge because it is not just a place to sit, relax and have a coffee, it is also a place to meet new people from different parts of the world and learn about cultures and traditions. The global lounge is opposite the Boots Library and is easily accessible for the students to relax and energise themselves with a cup of coffee.
NTU has made an effort to provide all the benefits to its students through its huge library with enormous collection of books relating to each subject and the availability of PCs in different places of the Library and University Campus. The Gym has been set up in such a way to maintain the fitness goal of each student. It includes dance, yoga, zumba, and many more other physical activities. The Student Union (NTSU) is an amazing part of the University as the responsible NTSU is active throughout the year bringing out new and fun filled activities for the students to get involved in, including the Varsity, Student Union elections, student club nights etc.
The NTU Online Workspace is a virtual learning space for students and provides all the information and knowledge to the students for them to easily get the notifications of events, library timings, important emails, reading materials, dropbox submissions, and requests for books, which you can also renew from home.
Overcoming my stage fear and being socially active has been my greatest achievement during my study at NTU and it has helped me a lot in presenting myself in front of the staff and other fellow students more confidently.
My career plans have not changed but extended. As a qualified Legal Practitioner in India and a postgraduate student from NTU, I will be more challenging and confident in every situation.
My future goal for life is to be a better person, always keep learning and work diligently in my field.
