Why did you choose NTU in Mansfield and your course?

"I work in Mansfield and felt that the campus would suit me better being a mature student. I prefer the smaller campus and the quieter environment.

I chose the course as I am a qualified Personal Trainer and competitive Powerlifter, and I wanted to broaden my knowledge and invest in myself to enable myself to be better, both in my athletic and professional career."

Can you tell us a bit about your placement?

"I have carried out my work experience at an independent strength gym in Mansfield, where I was able to observe the day to day running of a small gym and have been able to teach classes and one to one personal training sessions. Moving to online fitness during the lockdown has been interesting and has shown another side that others may not get to experience, and for that I am grateful."

What has stood out about NTU in Mansfield?

"The thing that has stood out to me has been the amount of support that is given by the lecturers and tutors to the learners, and especially to those of us that are mature students and have family and work commitments outside of our learning."

What is your favourite thing about your course?

"My favourite thing about the course to date would be the psychology module that we have completed, and I feel that the coaching module will be a favourite this semester."

What’s next for you after NTU in Mansfield?

"When I have completed my degree I hope to move forward with my improved knowledge in to my Personal Training business and become successful, wherever I might choose to go."
