Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I am really interested in politics, and I wanted to expand my knowledge on political systems nationally.

Could you describe your experience of being a (subject) student?

How would you describe the support from your tutors, university staff and student services?
Staff have been really helpful. They always make sure you are aware of the help that is available as well as the assurance that why will help you in necessary.

Have you completed any work placements on your course? If so, tell us about your experience – where did you go, what did you do, what skills have you gained and what have you enjoyed the most?

I did a work placement in a primary school in Nottingham and it was very enjoyable. In the school, I mostly observed but I did help out during lessons when necessary.

Do you have any memorable moments from your placement?

Circle time – This was a time where I really got to experience the children’s personalities and see them open up about the topics they knew. I especially liked when the topic was politics.

Do you have any advice for future students going on placement?

Make sure you make notes everyday about the skills you’ve learnt and what you’ve done.

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Fun, Diverse, Friendly

Where is a good place to eat, drink or visit in the city?

I good place to visit is The Lost City in corner house to play mini golf.

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU?

Definitely apply, you won’t regret it.

What is one thing you wish you knew before starting at NTU?

Accommodation goes quickly!
