About you...

What degree did you take at undergraduate level and where did you study?

I undertook my Postgraduate Diploma in Careers Guidance in 1994 at MMU.

In 2009 I undertook the Designing a Careers Education programme at Nottingham Trent.

Did you take a break in between your undergraduate degree and the postgraduate degree? If so, what did you do in this study break?

My last university study was 2009 and I returned in 2021 as a 51 year old.

Why did you want to undertake a postgraduate degree, and do you think it has benefitted your career aspirations?

I wanted to ensure that my professional development was still up to date and relevant.

Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I wanted to do the Careers Leaders course as it is relevant to my role as Careers Manager. NTU was the natural choice following my course experience in 2009.

Could you describe your experience of being a Postgraduate NTU student?

My course was online and our tutor Jo ensured we felt a community spirit, worked together and got a lot out of the course

How would you describe the support from your tutors, university staff and student services?

Jo Mcfadden the course tutor was fantastic from the very start until the final hand in of assignments. I could not have asked for any more support.

What three words would you use to describe Nottingham?

Professional, approachable, knowledgeable

Did you find it easy to make friends and settle in at NTU?

It was easy to mix with the group on teams. I did not move city.

What would you say to someone who is thinking of applying to NTU?

A fantastic experience that can only enhance your development. I have returned twice the experience was so supportive.
