More about Jonathan

"As a Forensic Psychologist working for HMPP, the DPsych offered me a fantastic opportunity to develop research skills and apply these to the area which is of particular interest for me. NTU appears to have quickly established an excellent reputation for supporting the development of forensic psychologists into competent and confident researching practitioners.

"I had not heard too much about the DPsych course before applying to NTU and initially had one or two reservations due to the distance from Bristol. However, upon attending the interview, meeting the course leader and a preliminary discussion about my research proposal with my prospective supervisory team, I know straight away this was the place I wanted to study.

"Having discussed my personal experiences of the DPsych at NTU with colleagues who have studied elsewhere, the structure of the course, the high level of support from supervisors and opportunities to present/disseminate your work is what really sets it apart.

"NTU is a welcoming and supportive environment conducive to development and achievement.

"Whilst I did not spend much time in Nottingham for the duration of the DPsych due to the nature of the course, I did form close relationships with other students within my cohort. Whilst we would only meet occasionally for workshops, we corresponded via a lively WhatsApp group which enabled us to keep in touch and provide support to one another.

"Since completing the DPsych, I have been successful in applying for a specialist role relating to my area of research. One of the main attractions of this new role is that it provides me with an opportunity to continue undertaking research, which I am very excited about. Within this new role, I will be better able to promote the recommendations made within my thesis, hoping these lead to significant contributions to the field."
