NTU TILT Professional Recognition Scheme
The NTU Professional Recognition Scheme offers NTU staff members the chance to celebrate the fantastic work they do to support learning and teaching at the institution and gain Higher Education Academy (HEA) Fellowship.
NTU are accredited by AdvanceHE to award Fellowship in recognition of an individual’s contribution to learning and teaching in Higher Education against the UK’s Professional Standards Framework.
There are four categories of Fellowship:
- Associate Fellow;
- Senior Fellow; and,
- Principal Fellow.
As a learning and teaching professional, the Professional Standards Framework acts as a reference point throughout an individual’s whole career. It appreciates early career development and progression of knowledge and activities across a range of learning and teaching activities and into more influencing roles.
By becoming a Fellow, you join a strong community of scholars who share and develop innovative practice both globally and at NTU, where we have over 1400 colleagues who hold a Fellowship category, which is one of the highest in the sector.
Here at NTU, we are enhancing our recognition scheme as part of our aim to develop a learning community. So, throughout the year, and in addition to our regular workshop support, we run a number of Fellowship focused campaigns. Successful examples include NTU Fellowship Week using #fellowshipat4 and ‘Festive Fellowship’ where we built our Fellowship Advent Calendar. These campaigns have been particularly successful in engaging colleagues across NTU in Fellowship.
We work closely with colleagues to develop our workshops and the support we offer, and as a result, we have also seen an increased number of applications from non-academic posts such as Employability, Student Support and Technicians. Fellowship should be seen as a practice and not a process; building a community to engage, share and learn and enhance learning and teaching not only at NTU but across the sector.
There are several submission deadlines throughout the academic year. These dates for the 2020/21 academic year are:
- Monday 4th October 2021
- Tuesday 1st February 2022
- Monday 6th June 2022
