NCE has always attempted to draw students into our work to provide opportunities but to also learn from their perspectives and skills. Our work has been enriched by their engagement and this theme recognises and highlights work we have done in this space.

Map the System

Overview: NCE strives to engage students in all of our work where possible providing learning and work-based experiences and utilising their expertise and knowledge. Map the System supported NTU students to take a systems thinking approach to societal challenges.

Policy Labs

Overview: NCE works with the Department of Social and Political Sciences colleagues to promote and support Policy Labs placements and projects and also delivers workshops for participants.

Work-based dissertations

Overview: NCE worked with colleagues in the Department of Social and Political Sciences to support students to develop their dissertations into policy focused outputs.

National Police Chiefs' Council (NPCC)/Gloucester Policing internships

Partners: Rowena Hill, Rich Pickford

Overview: Colleagues worked with NPCC andf Gloucester Constabulary to support a range of projects through NTU's Graduate Intern Programme.

Parliament Week

Partners: Rich Pickford, Janka Lloyd, Matt Henn, Kat Krulisova and Rose Gann

Overview: Alongside colleagues from Politics and International Relations we hosted four events through Parliament Week. These events showcased the UK Parliament and a series of pertinent events and issues for students to explore and engage with. Our Parliament Week culminated in a tour of the Houses of Parliament for a group of NTU Students.
