Event details

This activity is open to NTU students, staff and community members.

Led by percussionist Steve Barwell, our Drumline plays pieces for marching snare drums, bass drums and clash cymbals. We draw from the playing styles of some of the world's best drumlines, including the Top Secret Drum Corps.

Drumline is split into two sessions – Performance and Tech Class.

Our Performance Drumline is suitable for experienced musicians who are playing to Grade 5 standard or above. Our Tech Class is perfect if you're new to playing percussion and don't read music.

Is there an audition? Yes, attend a Drumline Tech Class to have your skills assessed.

What experience do I need?
For Performance Drumline you should be able to play to Grade 5 standard or above, but you don't need to have taken the exams.

Yearly cost

  • £20 NTU students (free for NTU Bursary holders)
  • £40 NTU staff and alumni
  • £80 community members

Come along to your first rehearsal and if you'd like to join Drumline, our music team will give you information about membership.
