Applications open for Writer in Residence opportunity

Are you a writer who enjoys engaging with a wide range of people? Curious about what makes places and people tick? Would you like to spend six months as Nottingham Trent University’s Writer in Residence? We have an exciting opportunity for an established writer to join NTU for a paid residency, starting in January 2019.

The front of NTU's Newton building on a sunny day.

Our Writer in Residence will have the opportunity to immerse themselves into our diverse community, working across all four of our campuses.

As well as having time to develop their own work, they will share their practice with our students and staff, and have the option to work alongside one of our many community partners.

The culmination of the residency will be a commission to create a piece of spoken word, which will feature in our graduation ceremonies.

This residency contributes to Curated & Created, NTU’s extra-curricular cultural programme, which includes Bonington Gallery, NTU Music, and our new performance venue Metronome.

If you’re a published or performed writer with experience of leading workshops or creative sessions, we’d love to hear from you.

For more information about this opportunity, download our Writer in Residence brief.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 9 December 2018.

If you have any enquiries about this residency, please email Helen Garrigan, Cultural Officer, or telephone 0115 848 8234.
