NTU Music's Vocal and Instrumental Competitions are back in February 2020

Applications are open for NTU Music’s annual Vocal and Instrumental Competitions, the finals of which take place on Wednesday 5 February 2020.

All NTU and Confetti students are invited to apply and showcase their talents, with no limitations on genre or style.

These two separate competitions are open to any student studying at NTU.

What does the competition involve?
You will need to prepare two contrasting pieces to perform, which together are no longer than 10 minutes in length. Preliminary rounds will take part the week commencing 20th January.

Who can apply?
These competitions are open to all NTU and Confetti students.

How do I apply?
To enter the competition you must complete an online application form by the allotted deadline.

When is the deadline to apply?
You need to submit your completed application by 5pm on Friday 17 January 2020.

What will happen after I’ve submitted my application?
The NTU Music team will contact you by email to allocate you a date and time for your preliminary round performance. At this stage you will perform one of your two chosen pieces.

If you are selected to progress through to the finals on Wednesday 5 February, you will perform both pieces of music in front of a guest adjudicator who will select the winners. This event will also be open to the public.

Prizes
A certificate will be presented to the first, second and third prize winners and a cash prize of £100, £50 and £25 will be given respectively.

* The adjudicator’s decision is final.
