A team of two Nottingham Law School (NLS) students have been successful in securing their place to compete in the 18th Annual Oxford Intellectual Property International Moot ('the Moot').

Tabitha Daniels and Francesca Shellard, who met through their work at the NLS Legal Advice Centre as part of the Student Pro Bono Committee, prepared their submissions for the Moot in December 2020 and were successfully selected to take part earlier this year.

Tabitha, currently undertaking the Bar Professional Training Course, said, "it has been delightful to work with Francesca during this moot and we are very grateful to have had NLS's support to enter it. We are now working on our submissions for the preliminary round and look forward to presenting them to the judges".

Fellow student Francesca, having recently graduated her LLB with a first class honours and ready to begin the Bar Training Course next year, added, "Tabitha is great to work with and we were delighted to have been selected to participate in the next round".

The Moot requires students to prepare and orally present a set of written submissions on each side of an intellectual property law problem set by experts in the field. The pair are now competing against teams from around the globe, including the winners of the Harold G Fox Moot.

The Moot, hosted by the Oxford Intellectual Property Research Centre, will take place in March 2021.
