Postgraduate students deliver project for luxury whisky brand Chivas

Students on Nottingham Trent University’s postgraduate Fashion Management, Marketing and Communication courses recently took part in a project set by British luxury whisky brand, Chivas.

Chivas project 1

The students were tasked with building a creative strategy with both global and local approaches for Chivas.

The students worked in groups and simulated professional industry roles - receiving feedback from Chivas throughout the project, they were then asked to present their ideas for a new interpretation of what brand collaborations could look like to a panel of judges at Chivas, which included the Global Marketing Director and Head of Marketing.

Following a tough judging process, Vibha Tandon, Jing Tian, Yifeng Tian, Hanyun Fan, Yingying Xiao, Ellie Green, Paige Cowton and Eve DaBora-Seidler were chosen as the winners and have been invited to attend a whisky tasting and tour at the distillery, as well as continuing to receive mentoring from the team at Chivas including portfolio, interview and CV advice.

Eve DaBora-Seidler, a student from the winning team commented about her experience working on a commercial brief:

“The team at Chivas made us all feel very comfortable in introducing us to a professional setting. We were given a good amount of time to present and were asked challenging and thought-provoking questions following our pitches, which allowed us to learn valuable presenting and communication skills.”

Lev Bobrakov, Global Brand Manager for Chivas, who worked closely with the students on the project and assisted the students commented:

“I really enjoyed working with the MA FMMC cohort on this collaborative project, it was great to see the creativity and diversity between outcomes and see what the next generation of Marketeers are thinking about for our ever-changing industry.”
