My time at NTU

I have loved my experience at NTU, it has been an unforgettable experience and I have learnt and grown so much. I have met the most inspirational people along the way. There is a great community on the course between students and tutors which I’ll always cherish.

My work

My practice focuses on illustration, book design and giftware design. With a passion for bold and strong graphic compositions, my work is punchy and full of personality.

I enjoy using humour in my work through playful copy and illustration, whilst also tackling topics that I’m passionate about. Using design as a force for good to create change for social causes like the climate crisis, sustainability, feminism and equality is a key interest of mine.

I equally love how design can bring someone happiness on a smaller scale whether that be through greeting cards, print or a beautiful book cover.

Alongside a job, I am planning to run my design business Funky Fem which sells sassy, punchy feminist designs, aiming to empower women. It is important to me that my designs give back, so profits from my first collection will go to Women’s Aid. You can see my work on FunkyFem on Etsy.

My future

I’ll be graduating with an imaginative and creative mind, an enthusiastic personality and I am ready to put my all into every new experience. I have been commissioned by UK Greetings and Lucy Maggie Designs to create greeting card ranges and would love to continue freelance work like this.

I aspire to work as a children or adult book designer, a giftware designer, or a mural painter, although I am actively seeking any graphic design and illustration opportunities.

In the meantime, I will start to grow my illustration business Funky Fem.
