We are delighted to announce that NBS academic colleagues have been awarded the Experienced Teaching Category, British Academy of Management (BAM) Education Practice Award, 2021.

Nottingham Business School (NBS) team consisting of, Dr Muhammad Mazhar, Dr Richard Howarth, Dr Shaun Gordon, Fiona Winfield, and Professor Dr Petra Molthan-Hill have won the Education Practice Award in the Experienced Teaching Practitioner Category at the British Academy of Management Awards 2021 for the development of their ‘Carbon Management Consultancy Project’ initiative. The judging panel thought that it is a “great initiative, and clearly has had substantial effect on many students and business. The initiative focuses theory with practice and demonstrates significant impact and value to the regional economy as well as dealing with a topic that students should learn how to manage”.

Now in its sixth year, the Education Practice category recognises individuals or teams that enhance management learning and education, and celebrates impactful management education practice, informed by theories of learning and pedagogical development. The Awards support the sharing of good practise amongst the BAM community and encourage learning from one another’s practice in the design and delivery of modules and courses in virtual environments.

“We are excited to win the prestigious BAM Education Practice Award. It is great to receive recognition from peers. The work students do in the project is business focused and it offers them experiential learning opportunity where they apply theory-to-practice solving sustainability challenges in a business. The project helps boost student employability by developing skills and competencies such as leadership, team working, project management and problem solving. The project is a win-win for both students and businesses”.
