Female student singing

Applications are now open for NTU Music’s annual Vocal and Instrumental Competitions. NTU and Confetti HE students are invited to submit their audition videos, ahead of the competition finals in February.

Who can enter?
These competitions are open to all NTU and Confetti HE students – you don’t have to be involved with NTU Music or play / sing to a particular grade or level to take part.

What’s the prize?
We’ve got cash prizes available for each competition, with £100, £50 and £25 up for grabs respectively for first, second and third place.

How do I apply?
Submit your application via our online form. You should have a piece of music prepared to perform in a preliminary round.

Is there a deadline?
Apply by 12 pm on Friday 14 January 2022.

What happens next?
We'll invite you to take part in a preliminary round where you'll perform one piece of music. If you're then selected to take part in the finals in February (Vocal Competition – 2 February, Instrumental Competition – 9 February), you'll be invited to sing or play in front of a professional adjudicator. An accompanist will be available for the final and should be used instead of a backing track, where possible.
