NTU’s first alumni wedding at our beautiful Brackenhurst Campus

Two of our very own graduates said “I do” last month, back where it all began.

Brackenhurst alumni wedding

Eden and Charles met in 2015 outside Brackenhurst bar during their first week of term. Eden was studying BSc (Hons) Animal Biology and Charles BSc (Hons) Wildlife Conservation.

The pair fondly remember their time at NTU. “We used to go on night walks around the Brackenhurst grounds and always saw a barn owl,” said Eden. “We made lots of close friends. Some attended our wedding – three were even my bridesmaids. We really enjoyed our time there together and are so grateful we met at Brackenhurst.”

Talking of memorable moments at NTU, as part of her studies, Eden took a two-week work placement in Mauritius. “She swam with wild dolphins and became a qualified scuba diver,” said Charles. “I have my own special memories too. We visited Spain, where we tracked wild boar and took part in incredible field research.”

After graduating, the pair settled away from their hometowns of Sussex and Sheffield to the village of Southwell.

Eden and Charles were engaged on 5 August 2021 on a beach in Dornoch, Scotland.

“We chose Brackenhurst for our wedding venue – it’s where we met, and we have a lot of memories there. It's a beautiful place we’re very fond of,” they told us.

The happy couple were married on Saturday 27 August. They celebrated the joyous occasion with their beautiful two-year old daughter, loved ones, and close friends.
