Two ARES students named finalists at the FDF awards
Level 6 Food Industry apprentices have been announced as finalists at the annual Food and Drink Federation (FDF) awards in the 'Apprentice of the Year' category.

The FDF awards recognise and reward excellence for innovation, competitiveness and talent in the food and drink industry. Each year, companies from across the food and drink supply chain enter the awards, and shortly over 500 guests will come together to celebrate the winners at the FDF awards ceremony.
Congratulations to Kate Rose and Rosie Barnes, both apprentices on the Level 6 Food Industry Technical Professional (FITP) Degree Apprenticeship, who have been nominated. Kate is currently working at Modelēz International, whilst Rosie is working at Unilever UK & Ireland.

The course, which is offered by NTU's School of Animal, Rural and Environmental Sciences, has been designed in conjunction with the food and drink manufacturing industry. Students get the opportunity to gain a degree, with the addition of gaining invaluable hands-on experience through work.
Level 6 FITP Degree Apprenticeship course leader, Jennifer Slack, comments: "I am extremely proud of both our nominated apprentices, not only for their commitment on the course but also for the way in which they have both used their knowledge gained from the course to help in their everyday employment, benefitting their companies and others around them."
Winners of the award will be announced at the awards ceremony taking place on Thursday 21 September in London. Good luck to both students involved.
