About Soumya:

I am an Architect with a passion for Design research and Journalism.

I believe constant curiosity and human psychology to be an intrinsic part of design that helps create relevant products that solves issues.

Currently, I'm exploring public furniture in the UK and its impact on young adults. Computational design and biomimicry are two other facets I would like to explore it in the future.

Mitra Mandal

“Mitra Mandal” loosely translates to a group or circle of friends.

For young adults often, especially in the UK, public spaces outdoors might not be designed to encourage interaction post-work hours in an inexpensive manner.

The intention is to create a space that promotes user input in the design of a product for them as well as encourage the users to take ownership and of the product for themselves.
