Further education initial teacher education bursaries available
The Department for Education (DfE) is offering bursaries of up to £30,000 to students training to teach eligible Further Education (FE) subjects.

Bursaries will be awarded by the DfE on a first-come, first-served basis.
To be eligible to receive a bursary you must:
- be eligible to receive student support
- have achieved a standard equivalent to GCSE grade 4 (C) or above in English and mathematics, and at least a level 3 qualification in their subject of teacher training, or have relevant professional experience
- be taking a qualifying pre-service ITE course in England
The high priority subject areas for the 2024 academic year are as follows:

Science, including biology, chemistry, or physics | £30,000 |
English | £15,000 |
Special educational needs and disabilities ( SEND ) | £15,000 |
