Virtual Learning Environment at NTU
NTU Online Workspace (NOW) is the digital learning platform for staff and students that supports delivery of all our courses. The VLE Team continually develop the platform to ensure that NOW evolves to meet the requirements of the University and its users.

Accessing Nottingham Online Workspace (NOW)
The Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) provides access to course materials, assessment tools, and advanced learning analytics that enable NTU’s award winning, high quality online and flexible learning courses.
NOW can be accessed from anywhere, via internet enabled device, allowing NTU to offer courses all over the world.

NTU Virtual Learning Rooms
NTU offer a collaborative module development process and templates to support consistency of the student experience across accessible module Learning Rooms. NTU use an online learning standard based on the Quality Matters framework to ensure the highest quality student experience of online learning.
I love the Learning Room style a lot. It's really engaging and the layout makes perfect sense; it has a clear flow and is easy to use. The images/card interaction are especially useful for people who are more visual. I like the 'check your understanding' sections as they help to consolidate key information.

Lecture Capture is a versatile multimedia tool that makes it easy to produce academic video content for students.

Digital Academic Practice Training
The VLE team manage the digital academic training for all staff at NTU who use the Virtual Learning Rooms. The goal is to enhance the student experience and enable staff to leverage the digital tools available to streamline workload. The training covers NOW, ChatGPT and everything in between.

VLE Project Support
The VLE team provide support on digital projects across the university by working alongside academics and professional services colleagues.
One such project is currently investigating how AI can improve or enhance working practices at NTU. With AI technologies like ChatGPT taking centre stage in the sector the team are working with colleagues to provide expertise that empowers individuals to make effective use of these tools as academic experts.

Adam Elce
Adam is the Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) Manager within the Centre for Academic Development & Quality and is responsible for overseeing the operational management of the NTU NOW (Virtual learning rooms) system.
Alastair Town
Alastair is a Digital Academic Practice Trainer within the Centre for Academic Development & Quality (CADQ).
