Residence Life

University is more than just lectures and deadlines – it’s about making friends, trying new things, and feeling at home.

Exclusively in UPP halls, Home at Halls is a programme of residence life activities to help you settle in and make the most of your time in student accommodation with a packed social calendar, free events, and opportunities to get involved throughout the year.

Home at Halls: free events every week in UPP halls at NTU

If you live in one of our UPP-managed halls, Home at Halls is included — a free social programme running throughout your stay, with everything from Sunday brunches and quiz nights to creative workshops and a wellness festival. Every resident can join any event on the calendar at no extra cost.

Home at Halls events are hosted by fellow NTU students. Our friendly Student Reps will welcome you, help bring people together and make halls feel more like home. You can find what’s on each week in the Home at Halls app.

What's actually on?

There’s always something to get involved in with Home at Halls, and it’s always FREE:

  • Weekly Socials – At least one event a week at your accommodation for you to get involved with.
  • Sunday Brunches – free brunch in your hall to round off the weekend, and an easy way to meet the people you live near.
  • Creative Workshops – hands-on sessions where you make something and take it home with you. No experience needed.
  • Pyjama Party – exactly what it sounds like. Turn up in your comfiest clothes for a relaxed night in with your hall.
  • Quiz Nights – teams, rounds and a bit of competition. Come with your flat or on your own and we’ll put you in a team.
  • Hall Awards – our end-of-year celebration, with awards for the residents who made their hall what it is.
  • Food Nights – free food in your hall, built around a different cuisine or theme each time.
  • Wellness Festival – a run of sessions focused on looking after yourself: some active, some calm, some you’ll try once and love.
  • Competitions & Prizes – competitions running through the year on the Home at Halls app, with prizes worth entering for.
  • Cooking Kits – free ingredients and a recipe so you and your flatmates can cook something together.
  • Weekend Activities – something on at the weekend for anyone who isn’t heading home, in your hall or out in Nottingham.

Inside Home at Halls

Home at Halls was developed to help build a community in halls, providing opportunities to make friends and meet like-minded people.

Getting on the app

Everything on in your hall goes on the Home at Halls app, that’s where you’ll see what’s happening each week, sign up, and get told when something changes. You won’t be able to access the app until you move into your room.

In the meantime, follow @hah_ntu on Instagram to see what’s happening, stay up to date and access exclusive competitions.

This is your home, make it memorable.

Why not make the most of Home at Halls throughout your studies?

Second and third years are welcome to stay in halls too, and Home at Halls continues with the socials, the brunches, quiz nights and workshops, whichever year you’re in.
