The Connected Experiences Lab conducts applied, user-oriented research in innovative emerging digital technologies. We create novel applications that connect people in real and virtual worlds, including immersive technologies, artificial intelligence and tangible interaction. The methods include user-oriented design and grounded innovation. Some of our applications areas are gaming and entertainment; training and simulation; prototyping and making; performance and virtual production; and tangible and intangible cultural heritage. The research often involves partners in industry or the public sector, which keeps the work relevant and provides pathways to knowledge exchange and impact. We are engaged in teaching the MSc in Creative Technologies other programs in the department of Design & Digital Arts.
