Supporting your success

We understand that being a researcher comes with its own unique challenges and needs. That is why we have developed a training and development programme especially for doctoral researchers.

The Doctoral School offers a service that supports all doctoral researchers to provide equity in the doctoral experience across all academic schools and programmes. You will also be able to get tailored advice on careers, finance, health and wellbeing throughout your university experience.

Doctoral Education, Training and Development Programme (DETD)

Our unique DETD programme will support, educate and guide you through your doctoral journey from start to finish. You’ll be able to attend a range of interactive workshops, seminars and events throughout the year and meet other researchers. This programme supplements the specialised training offered by your School and is delivered in collaboration with teams from across the University.

Library support

As well as providing the resources you need to complete your research, the NTU library offers training sessions and one-to-one appointments for researchers. They can help you with:

  • finding and managing information
  • deciding where to publish and disseminating research
