Scholarships and loyalty schemes
The School of Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of generous scholarships and loyalty schemes. These include:

The School of Social Sciences Dean's Master's Scholarship for Academic Excellence
The School of Social Sciences is delighted to offer a number of competitive Dean's Master's Scholarships for Academic Excellence for eligible courses starting in September 2015.
These prestigious scholarships are available to students from the United Kingdom and European Union and are worth up to the value of half the tuition fee. The scholarships will be available in the form of a tuition fee reduction.
If you are successful in your scholarship application you will be invited to join our exclusive Scholarship Winner's Ambassador Scheme when you enrol on your course.
The following full-time and part-time courses are included in the School of Social Sciences Dean's Master's Scholarships for Academic Excellence Scheme:
- MSc Psychology
- MSc Applied Child Psychology
- MSc Forensic Psychology
- MSc Psychological Research Methods
- MRes Psychological Research Methods
- MSc Forensic Mental Health
- MSc Psychological Wellbeing and Mental Health
- MA Politics
- MA International Relations
- MA Sociology
- MA Criminology
- MA Public Health.
For courses starting in September 2015 the deadlines are:
- 25 February 2015
- 29 April 2015
- 24 June 2015.
Scholarship applications received before 4 pm GMT on a deadline date will be assessed at the subsequent scholarship assessment panel and successful applicants will be notified of their scholarship award within three weeks.
The University also has a number of scholarships available for International (non-EU) applicants starting on full-time postgraduate courses.
Scholarships schemes include:
- International Postgraduate Scholarships
- Edulynks-Universidad Panamericana Master's Scholarship
- Makerere Master's Scholarship.
Postgraduate Taught and Professional Alumni Loyalty Scheme
The School of Social Sciences is pleased to offer a 25% tuition fee reduction if you are an existing final year NTU undergraduate student, or a postgraduate or professional student studying at the City site, Clifton campus or Brackenhurst campus and you progress directly onto an eligible course within the School of Social Sciences, or if you have studied a full-time or part-time undergraduate, postgraduate or professional course at the University (on the City site, Clifton campus or Brackenhurst campus) and graduated from the University at any time after 1 July 2010.
You must also have accepted an offer of a place to study on an eligible course at the School of Social Sciences starting in September 2015 or January 2016.
Current undergraduate, postgraduate and professional students
If you are a current final year undergraduate student or are currently studying on a postgraduate or professional course and are due to graduate in July 2015 or November 2015 you do not need to apply for the discount as it will automatically be deducted from your fee before enrolment.
NTU Alumni (2010 – 2014)
If you graduated from your Nottingham Trent University course after 1 July 2010 and before July 2015 you will need to submit an application to receive the discount.
To receive the discount please email the School of Social Sciences enquiries email with the subject line "Alumni Loyalty Scheme Application" with the following details:
- your full name (and the name on your degree certificate if it is different)
- the School of Social Sciences degree you have applied to
- a copy of your degree certificate and / or transcript from the NTU course you graduated from
- the title of your degree you graduated from
- the year that you graduated
- your NTU student ID number (if available).
In order to be considered for this fee reduction, you will need to submit these details to us by 31 July 2015 (September entry) and 27 November 2015 (January entry).

A number of bursaries are available for research projects from the University.
