Uni essentials for the start of term
Published: 12/09/2022
Hopefully you’re all ready and set for Term One, but in case you’ve still got a few questions, we’ve created an essential checklist to get you off to a great start.

Your steps to the best start
Your enrolment
You’ll need to enrol at the start of every academic year and should be on campus for your course start date to join in all induction activities. If you haven’t already, you should complete your enrolment as soon as possible once you arrive on campus but you can get in touch if you have any questions.
Your timetable
If you’re new to NTU, it’s important that you don’t miss your course induction. Check your course induction information for your start date and timetable. Due to the University Closure Day on Monday 19 September, your timetable will have changed and may continue to be updated until 6 pm on Sunday 18 September.
If you’re coming back after the summer break your timetable will be released on 20 September 2022 through NOW.
This year’s term dates can be found on StudentHub – your online resource for accessing support and guidance.
Take your health seriously
Looking after your physical and mental health will help you get the most out of your time at NTU. We’ve got plenty of support available if you need it whilst you’re at university, but there’s a few things you can do before you arrive and in your first weeks:
- Register with a local doctor - don’t leave it until you’re unwell or need that repeat prescription.
- Make sure your vaccinations are up to date – check with your doctor what is available to you.
Visit StudentHub to find out more about health and wellbeing support.
Your money and funding
Make sure your funding is in place and you have a budget plan to help make your money last all term.
If you’re not sure, we’ve lots of helpful advice an information on money, fees and funding on our StudentHub pages.
What’s On
As you’re part of our NTU community, you will get a weekly What's On email full of exciting events and opportunities to help you make the most of your time at NTU.
