A day in the life of an artisan food production student

Wondering what your days might look like as a food production student? We've crafted an example timetable to give you a glimpse into your first year. You are likely to study six modules over the year. You will also have practical sessions to cement your learning.

Please note that this is only an example timetable and does not reflect your actual timetable. Modules, contact days and times are subject to change. You will receive your full timetable when you enrol at NTU.

An example timetable for a first year Artisan Food Production student

In this example students have a 6-week timetable, with sessions planned on Mondays. Tuesdays, and Wednesdays for Artisan Dairy and Bread Production, Artisan Business Entrepreneurship and marketing, and Patisserie and Viennoiserie. Thursdays are spent in Food Chemistry sessions.

By studying Artisan Food Production at NTU, you'll have the best of both worlds. Our courses are jointly delivered with The School of Artisan Food, based on the Welbeck Estate in north Nottinghamshire, so you'll have access to all the facilities that other students do at Brackenhurst Campus, and much more.

Food laboratories

At Brackenhurst Campus, you will work with industry-standard tools and technology in our specialist food-processing, chemistry and microbiology laboratories.

The School of Artisan Food – Welbeck Estate

Welbeck’s training rooms are professionally equipped for the teaching of bread making, cheesemaking, butchery and charcuterie. You will develop your practical expertise in producing high-quality artisan food products, as well as learning how to develop and grow an artisan food business in today’s competitive market.
