Our successes are a product of our diverse body of students, dedicated academic and professional staff, and team of technical experts. Academic staff are embedded in industry through practice, consultancy and research and specialise in areas including global heritage and management, digital architecture, identity, memory and architecture, deployable structures and urban energy planning.
We’ve got extensive links with partners and our broad range of expertise enable us to develop and support our students at every level, through undergraduate and postgraduate taught and research study routes. Teaching is underpinned by visiting professionals and industry experts who enhance the course content with their insight into current practice and live projects applied to real challenges faced in architecture.

Smart Heat Networks
NTU's Smart Heat Network (SHN) has been set up to respond to the challenges of this transformation. UK experience in heat networks is concentrated in a handful of cities such as Nottingham and Sheffield.

The research group, Cultural Heritage, Architecture and Communities (CHAC), brings together researchers engaged with and sharing interests in, the dynamic inter-relationships between cultural heritage (tangible and intangible), architecture and communities.
The Creative and Virtual Technologies Lab
The Creative and Virtual Technologies Lab is a multidisciplinary research environment where architects, artists, designers, engineers, computer scientists and human scientists collaborate to explore the potential of new visualisation techniques and digital design models and processes. This will enhance the quality of our buildings and cities in a sustainable way meeting user expectations.
