More about Rebecca
This course has helped me develop my passion of working with and helping animals. I have learnt how to handle/restrain small and larger animals, how to train an animal successfully and the techniques that this involves. I also learnt the different body languages of an animal and how to handle the different behaviours that occur. In my first year I was able to pick up the basic skills of grooming a dog. This course has made me more confident by encouraging me to do work experience in different areas and environments, and work with different animals and people.
I would like to work in a zoo, working as a keeper and hopefully become a specialist for a certain animal (by choice: lemurs or red pandas). Overall I’d love to be a zoo keeper because I think it will be a rewarding job and it would be an amazing experience to work with a variety of species. Alternatively, I’d enjoy working for the RSPCA as an inspector, helping to fight for animals' rights and preventing them from being subjected to cruelty.
