Why did you choose NTU and your course?

The atmosphere at NTU suited me – I could see myself studying and living here.

I chose Product Design because I’ve always loved design, and I could tell NTU took it seriously as a course and profession.

Have you been involved in any live projects or exciting briefs? What has stood out to you?

As a course, we’ve been involved in several live projects. The most recent was with the design consultancy, Matter. In groups, we were challenged with designing three separate smart devices for the year 2025.

It was a great experience to present to and receive feedback from industry professionals. It also gave us an insight into what life as a designer outside of university might feel like.

Have you completed any work placements on your course?

I'm currently on my placement. With a fellow course mate, we are working with the Hive to start up our own accessories business, Culture Corner.

Due to the current circumstances, we are working from home, communicating by video calls to develop our brand and products.

I’ve really enjoyed working alongside my friend to create something that we both love and want to continue with when we graduate.

Have you been on any trips with your course?

My favourite trip was to Sweden last year. Our tutors organised some amazing experiences for us, such as being able to attend the Stockholm Furniture and Light Fair.

They also gave us lots of freedom, allowing us to plan our own things and really make the most of our trip.

What’s next for you after NTU?

After graduating, I want to continue to grow my business and turn it into my full-time job.

It’s something my friend and I had always seen ourselves doing, and NTU has really helped us to make that happen.
