Why NTU…

Why did you choose NTU and your course?

I chose Real Estate because have always had a passion for property and had experience working in an estate agent. As a result, when researching courses, I discovered I could do a degree and felt this would allow me to explore my passion.

I chose NTU as after researching the course NTU was 3rd best in the country for this degree. In addition, it had a high focus on employment and commercial awareness which was of high importance to me. Also, the university has a high Student satisfaction rating which was important to me having left my previous university because of poor pastoral support.

What do you think about the course staff? How do they support your learning and university experience?

I thoroughly enjoy my course and the teaching staff could not be better. All the staff have industry experience and most still have very strong links/work in the industry which ensures the highest quality of teaching. In addition, they are very helpful when asking for placement or internship advice. The staff take a very personal approach and take an active interest in the student’s learning & wellbeing.

Does the “real” NTU match what you’d imagined? How does it compare with your friends’ experience at other universities?

It has exceeded my expectations, many of my friends are struggling as the university does not provide a strong support network for the students. In addition, NTU provides good career links and has a high focus on graduate employment whereas many of my friends have not had guidance in this area.

What’s next for you after NTU?

Once I leave NTU I hope to join a graduate scheme and work towards my APC. Also, I would like to keep strong links to my friends I have made here.

Has the employability team helped you plan for life beyond NTU?

The employability team have helped with my CV and covering letters. Also, through the Employability Award I have built new skills and explored what I wanted for my future.
