Daniela has been awarded a year-long graduate internship working with ANN INC. in New York.

“I enjoy the freedom I have to develop as a designer and the workshops that help me to learn and develop my skills. I like having the opportunity to try different disciplines and in the final year being able to cross these disciplines, with no limits to your creativity.

“We’ve had the chance to enter so many different competitions and this has really helped to broaden my portfolio, and given me the chance to get my work out there. I’ve entered the Bemz Design Award, a live project with Next, the Bradford Textile Society competition, SPINEXPO red room project, and the ANN INC. graduate internship.

“For the ANN INC. internship we had to put together three concepts and collections for Ann Taylor, Loft, Lou & Grey looking at colour, concept and final designs for each brand. I am still in shock that I actually won, and so proud of myself.  I will be working at Ann Taylor with the print and concept team. This has given me so much confidence and pushed my own designs for my final major project.

“I have been fortunate enough to gain work experience with: Studiomade@ntu; John Lewis design team; George at ASDA girlswear design team; Tom Cody studio; Jonathan Saunders; London and New York Fashion weeks; Mirjam Roudén studio; and Amanda Wakeley. Doing all this work experience has been invaluable and made me aware of what it takes to work in the fashion industry.”
