What do you most enjoy about your course?
“The time to develop my thinking and make use of the tutors and technical staff. At NTU there is great support, and I have been able to develop my skills in using video and editing software – I think this has really pushed my practice.”

How do you find the course staff?
“The course staff are really friendly, helpful and amazing. They offer a lot of support both in terms of practical and theoretical work and on a personal level. I can’t fault them!”

How do you find the facilities?
“NTU has really good facilities - especially in film and video which is my speciality. The technical staff here are extremely supportive and give you access to just about every piece of software or technology you might need. There is also access to a range of other resources such as print making, casting and woodwork, which has all been really beneficial for my studies.”

What do you like about studying and living in Nottingham?
“Nottingham is a friendly city with a good artistic community. It’s also very central, making it very easy to access shows and art exhibitions all over the country.”

How do you think the course, and having a postgraduate qualification will help you progress your career?
“It already has I think! I have just secured a job as an artist in residence at a high school for a year, which involves some teaching and running workshops.

“My postgraduate degree certainly gave me the confidence and edge over other applicants during the interview. As part of the course, we complete a professional practice semester, which involves a work placement in industry. I feel that my time spent working as a Learning and Outreach Intern at Backlit Gallery, Nottingham provided me with experience that helped me to secure this job.”
