More about Kim

“What I most enjoy about the course is the freedom to choose different briefs and the opportunity to tailor your learning around your own interests. Also, everyone helps each other out on the course. It has been especially helpful having a course Facebook page as you can ask questions and spread news that people may have missed.

“The chance to enter various competitions throughout the course pushes you to work to a professional standard and get your work seen by industry. One competition I really enjoyed was Macmillan’s children’s book competition - the brief was so open meaning that everyone’s outcomes were completely different and personal to them.

“Nottingham is just the right size for life as a student and I really like how the closeness of everything in the city.

“Exhibiting at New Designers was a great experience! Getting to speak to industry and practise talking about your work, was really important. During New Designers I was awarded with the Zizzi Fresh Talent award – I was really surprised but happy to win the award! I now have the opportunity to work with Zizzi to create a large wall illustration for one of their stores.”
