More about Wanda
Why did you choose NTU and your course?
I chose NTU because of the personal connection I felt with the faculty, who took the time to personally show me around, when I visited the University, while on work in the UK. Receiving tuition support from the British Council validated and affirmed my decision.
What was your favourite thing about studying in the School of Art & Design?
Studying in a School of Art & Design alongside disciplines like Management, Law, Medicine, and Science. Creativity influences all disciplines; in turn, these disciplines shape creative thinking.
What do you think of the course facilities? How do they compare to your work in industry?
The course was industry-focused with real-world career development. It helped me grow as a thinker and leader.
Did you get a chance to work on any live projects or competitions during your studies? What was this experience like?
During my MA in Strategy and Trend Forecasting, I interned with Milouket Styling and Design in Amsterdam; a wonderful hands-on experience in trend forecasting, and visual storytelling.
Did you get involved with any other opportunities at NTU?
I was the Student Representative, taught a Trend Forecasting class for BA students, sang as an understudy in the Latin Choir at St Barnabas Cathedral, and took on part-time university projects for pocket money; all contributing to a well-rounded learning experience beyond academia.
What job are you currently doing and what does it involve?
I am the founder of Imaginator™. I partner with organisations through focused imagination workshops to help envision bold ideas and turn them into reality.
How has your experience at NTU helped you in your current role?
Living and working alongside people from diverse nationalities prepared me for the nature of the industry ~ to collaborate across cultures and appreciate different perspectives.
What would your advice be to current Art & Design students?
Have a Point of View. Stay curious and be a Life Longer Learner.
What was the process of getting to where you are today?
You need capability, drive, and likeability throughout your career~ but likeability matters most. People work with people they enjoy being around.
