Why NTU...
Why did you choose to study a postgraduate degree?
I'm pursuing a postgraduate degree to enhance my career prospects, deepen my knowledge, and develop advanced skills. This qualification will help me transition into a specialised field, increase earning potential, and stay updated on industry trends. Additionally, I'm driven by a passion for learning and personal growth, seeking to challenge myself, broaden my perspectives, and achieve expertise in my area of interest.
Why did you choose your course at NTU?
I choose to study at NTU due to various reasons including it’s reputation among students, having a great curriculum and supportive staff. Also NTU is rated highly among United Kingdom Universities. NTU also provided great research opportunities and an employability team providing support among students. Also the university location is quite beautiful and peaceful.
What’s your experience been like of your course so far? Can you pick out any highlights?
My experience has been exceptional. There were many welcome events and fairs to help students settle in. Lectures are very informative and engaging with the staff explaining and teaching in a refreshing way, at students' pace. Also there are many societies at the Student Union at NTU, so we get to meet like minded people.
What does Social Sciences mean to you?
For me social science is working with people and helping people transform their lives and also frontline services. Social Sciences represents the study of human behaviour, relationships, and societal structures. It's about understanding the complexities of human experiences, inequalities, and social issues. Working in Social Sciences means empowering individuals and communities, addressing social injustices and inequalities and so on. Through my studies and work, I aim to support vulnerable populations, promote social change, and enhance well-being. I believe Social Sciences has the power to transform lives, foster inclusive communities, and inform policy decisions that drive positive change.
Support...
What do you think of the support available from tutors and staff at NTU?
They are great. Teaching staff are friendly and help us open up about our opinions. Support staff are also great.
The Next Steps…
What’s next for you after NTU?
I plan on working within the NHS or police department after my masters. Also after this I’m planning on studying Masters in Forensic Psychology and doing some research in my field.
How is NTU helping you to achieve your career goals?
NTU has great employability fairs and teams which help us with providing future opportunities and how to prepare for it.

Why did you want to study in the UK?
I am fascinated with the United Kingdom. I chose to study in the UK for its academic excellence, global recognition, and cultural diversity. The UK’s world-class universities, research opportunities, and networking possibilities will help me achieve my academic and career goals. I’m excited to experience life in the UK, improve my English language skills, and connect with international professionals.

Studying at NTU as an international student has been life-changing. I’ve developed academically, culturally, and personally, thanks to supportive staff, diverse peers, and vibrant campus life. NTU’s inclusive environment has helped me overcome challenges and achieve my goals.
What advice would you give to help new international students get settled in at university?
To new international students, I’d advise: arrive early to settle into accommodation and familiarise yourself with campus. Attend orientation events and join international student groups to connect with peers. Don’t hesitate to ask for help from university support services. Be open-minded, patient, and kind to yourself as you adjust to cultural differences. Explore local amenities, try new foods, and engage with local communities. Lastly, stay connected with family and friends back home, but also make time to build new relationships here.
