Get involved – NTU societies

Eager to get involved and make friends at university? One of the easiest ways to do this is to join one (or ten!) of our societies here at NTU.

Something for everyone

We’ve got over 80 societies to tempt you with, so you’re really spoilt for choice. Interested in politics? Want to help the local community? Keen to be involved in a faith-based group? Or maybe an activity or sport is more your thing?

We have societies in a diverse range of categories, including:

  • academic
  • artistic
  • common interest
  • cultural
  • faith
  • hall groups
  • philanthropic
  • political
  • sports clubs
  • Trent Media.

Whatever it is you’d like to get into, from anime to archery, and cooking to conservation, our societies are the perfect way to meet like-minded people and have fun.

There really is something for everyone. Well, almost everyone...

Starting your own society

If the society you’d like to join doesn’t exist, why not set it up yourself? After all, if you have a particular interest or pastime, the chances are that there’ll be other students interested in it too.

And don’t worry – it’s pretty easy. The Students’ Union will give you all the information you need to get started, then give you resources and support once your society is up and running.
