Why we share our equality information

As part of our commitment for equality and to comply with the Public Sector Equality Duty, we must have due regard in the exercise of our functions to:

  • eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act
  • advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
  • foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not.

We publish this information in a manner that is accessible to the public, and includes information relating to people employed by the University (our employees) and people who use the University's services (our students).

Our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Team are responsible for coordinating the collation and publication of this information.

What you'll find in our equality information reports

The Equality Information Report gives a review of equality, diversity and inclusion data monitoring at NTU during the previous academic year. It includes statutory equality information on the University's student and employee populations.

Employee data is taken at a snapshot on 31 December of the academic year in question. Student data is based on the full academic year, which runs from 1 August to 31 July.
