NTU Film Students visit Budapest
Published on 31 March 2025

BA (Hons) Design for Film and Television and BA (Hons) Filmmaking have recently returned from an educationally packed trip to Budapest
Leaving early on Friday morning the group of students travelling to Birmingham Airport to jet off to Liszt Ferenc International Airport. After a smooth trip they settled in the heart of Budapest to begin their Hungarian education.
A four hour walking tour, exploring the capital in bright, sunny weather, followed by an evening boat crise on the Danube, was the perfect introduction to the culture of the city. Taking in sights from day until night showed the city from all angles before day two.
If you're familiar with productions such as Hellboy II; The Borgias and World Without End, you may be aware of Sir Alexander Korda, a Hungarian born, British film producer. Our students visited the Korda Film Park, where these productions were made and gave access for our students to gain behind the scenes experiences. Examples of Backlot sets were accessible to look around, giving valuable insight for our students to see how these large-scale sets are constructed. The students were also able to take part in 'film crew' role play in one of the smaller studios to gain experience.
A great time was had by all and invaluable experiences for our students getting hands on in the industry.
If you're interested in studying BA (Hons) Design for Film and Television or BA (Hons) Filmmaking, why not book an open day.
